1979 Porsche 911

This is a crazy project that my Dad and I did.  I knew hardly anything about restoring a car before this, and my Dad is completely blind, so we made a pretty unlikely duo for the whole thing.  Anyways, he carefully explained how the various systems on the car functioned, and how to deal with whatever, and then I would fix it.  I had to do a whole lot of reading in multiple different books, but I guess that's just how it goes with a car that you don't know.  It took a little less than 3 years total and went waaaay over budget but it was an awesome experience that I'd recommend to anyone with a desire to work on cars.  Now we have a much better than stock 911 with incredible performance and looks.  Hopefully we can pass it along to the next generation.

cheers!

This was our first parts car, which had a messed up body not worth saving.

Then we bought this second rolling chassis from Al at Parts Heaven.  I can't even say how great they were to deal with overall.  I've bought tons of extra parts from these guys since then and I'd always go to them first if I was looking for a used part.  We put most of the parts from the red car into this one (engine, trans, etc) but tons of stuff got upgraded.  All new suspension and brakes all around, cam regrind, bigger valves with engine and trans rebuild, short shift, new interior, new sounds, borla exhaust.  SUCH a fun car to drive.

And then finally it was done!  We live a little over an hour away from Road America, so we figured that was as good a place as any to test it out, hehehehe.
